Methods for calculation of initial signal to conduct seismic hazard zoning of urban agglomerations (on an example of Irkutsk)

Abstract

The paper deals with seismic hazard of Irkusk associated with different source zones. The average amplitude spectra of accelerations have been obtained for each zone. The spectra have been corrected for epicentral distances and probable magnitude. These amplitude and phase spectra have been used to calculate the expected accelerograms in each source zone for the 1st-category grounds. Theoretical calculation of seismic actions for typical ground conditions were conducted and using maximum accelerations evaluation of predictable large earthquakes seismic actions is given.
