Communications Sector and Regional Development (the Example of Irkutsk Region)

Abstract
The processes of development of the communications industry in the Irkutsk region are analyzed. The role of communication in the region's economy and the factors contributed to high level of development are shown. Differences in the nature of development of telecommunication services in populated areas and in remote ones are presented.
