Abstract
The paper considers options for optimizing hydrometric observations of the condition of a water body, taking into account the automation process. The results of the analysis of changes in the composition of the determined elements of the condition of a water body are presented. Based on scientific publications, a conclusion is formulated about the possibility of automating the determination of the state of a water object, with examples from the author’s own experience of conducting observations. In conclusion, recommendations are given on the automation of this type of observation on the network of Roshydromet, in particular, for autonomous observation points, the reduction of the number of states of a water object and the use of software products using computer vision technology.
