Abstract

Modern problems of geographical research are aimed at studying geosystems that develop under conditions of climatic or geodynamic changes. Analysis of scientific publications on the topic of landscape transformation of the Siberian platform has shown that most researchers associate the ongoing changes and the formation of landscape boundaries with the development of processes of aridization and strengthening of the continental climate. Their opinion coincides with the generally accepted view that climate and vegetation cover transformations within platforms were more significant in scale than changes in large landforms; therefore, their consideration is of particular importance when drawing regional boundaries. The territory is characterized by the diversity and contrast of geosystems, which makes the research area a unique polygon for identifying factors of their transformation. The influence of neotectonic processes on the transformation of geosystems in the research area has not been considered. The use of previously published materials in order to solve the problem requires their systematization from the standpoint of an integral approach. The article presents the results of generalization of information obtained in the course of field research, in the analysis of literary and cartographic data in order to identify the specifics of the transformation of plateau geosystems. It was found that there were four periods of irreversible transformations of geosystems within the plateau, which were caused by the synchronous manifestation of climatic and neotectonic processes. The results of the work are aimed at solving a fundamental problem related to the forecast of changes in the natural environment of Russian regions.
