The article presents the results of analysis temporal variability of a daily maximums precipitation on the territory of Irkutsk region. The existing approaches to the definition of extreme precipitation were given. Their threshold values for the base period were found. Characteristics of linear trends with assessing statistical significance were calculated on the basis of the formed archives of the time series extreme precipitation. In addition assessment of their contribution to the seasonal sums was carried out.
