Geosystems of Barguzin Basin

Abstract

The geosystems of the Barguzin basin have a complex space-time differentiation connected with a long history of development and functioning in the conditions of the Baikal rift zone. The formation of modern geosystems was preceded by a long history of development, with fluctuations in natural conditions and the interpenetration of the steppe and taiga. Natural factors of differentiation of geosystems are climate aridization, increased stagnant moisture (due to groundwater), salinization.  On the territory of the barguzin basin selected 13 classes of facies, typologically belong to three physiographic regions: the baikal-dzhugdzhurski mountain-taiga, southern siberian mountain taiga, central asian steppe. The article deals with the spatial and temporal differentiation of barguzin basin geosystems, which is largely determined by the establishment of the baikal rift zone, namely: the presence of intersecting systems of short and straight faults, modern differentiated tectonic movements, the formation of contrasting landforms, increased seismicity and dynamics of exogenous processes.
