A number of territories forming elements of an ecological network in which basis of mapping the functional principle of allocation and three-row classification of elements of an ecological network of region on an example of a catchment basin of the lake Baikal is put is offered. An essence which consists in the indissoluble complex analysis of three basic target components in the organisation of an ecological skeleton of region: protection of geosystem of Baikal preservation of a landscape and biodeversity of the Baikal region maintenance of comfortable conditions of ability to live of the population of region and a condition of its physical health. Territories forming elements of an ecological network are revealed on the basis of comparison and the analysis of structural features of landscapes and types of use of the earths on the basis of electronic maps: landscapes modern land tenure and a network of protected natural territories of scale 1:3 000 000. The purpose of our work – working out of principles and methods of cartographical display of an ecological network of region on an example of a catchment basin of the lake Baikal.
