New approaches in economic geography are caused by transition of economy to market that has led to introduction of concepts of a competition and competitiveness in a science arsenal. New principles are caused also by development of branches of virtual economy. Geographers should do the basic emphasis on research of properties of the local environment where network structures of mutual relations have advantage before hierarchical structure of a society in possibilities of working out of new technologies.
