Abstract

This paper is devoted to the methodology of mapping forests, based on automated classification of remote sensing data and digital elevation model (DEM) on example of the Zabaikalsky National Park. The methods of supervised and unsupervised classification applied to remote sensing data and DEM, forest taxation materials and field data were used. Based on the methodology described, a preliminary version of forest map of the Zabaikalsky National Park and a database of spatial and statistical dataset were created.
