Mapping of Geosystems of Mountains in the South of Siberia

Abstract
Identification of the existential organization of geosystems is the most important direction of physical geography. Landscape mapping is intended to display and document information on a variety, differentiation, integration, dynamics and evolution of natural and anthropogenous changed geosystems. Scales and detail of cartographical display are defined by the purposes, research problems and hierarchical level of the main mapped units. Development of classification of low-mountain steppe and forest-steppe geosystems of the South of Siberia at their large-scale mapping was based on the principles of V. B. Sochava's doctrine about geosystems and the concept of interdependence of the organization of geosystems with differentiation of substance of their components. The technique of drawing up landscape maps with simultaneous display of geomers and geochors allows to display typological and horological units of geosystems on one map. By drawing up geosystem maps of average scale topographic and thematic maps, materials of remote sensing, multi-scale landscape shooting and detailed mapping of key sites are used. Now maps of separate parts of the Minusinsk intermountain deflection are generalized for creation of the uniform geosystem map of the South of Middle Siberia. Development of the doctrine about geosystems demands transition from ascertaining of the facts and any comparisons to identification of component processes and searching of paths of their integration into uniform landscape (physical geographic) process. Every possible development of the integrating «through» approaches (landscape-geophysical, landscape-geochemical, biotsenological and «landscape-planning») and development of bases of the modern landscape classification are absolutely necessary for this purpose. This classification has to reflect adequately the organization of a geographical envelope, include three taxonomical rows (typological, horological and dynamic), and to be under construction on correct quantitative data.
