Trace element composition of Late Mezosoic rift-related volcanic rock assemblage of the Alexandrovo-Zavodsk depression structure, South-East Transbaikal area

Abstract

Classification, petrochemical and trace element features of the volcanic rocks of the upper beds of the Kailassk suite and Turginsk suite of South-East Trans- Baikal area are considered. We argue what these rocks is J3-K1 rift-related assemblages. A set of mineralogical, petrographic, petrochemical and geochemical data were used to conclude that trachiandesites and trachidacites of upper beds of the Kailassk suite were formed by processes of fractional crystallization and crust assimilation. The felsic rocks of Turginsk suite are related to the melts of continental crust material.
