Research of Scattering Capacity of the Atmosphere of the Irkutsk Region
The aim of the investigation was studying the ability of the atmosphere to scatter the pollutants in Irkutsk region. As input information was used data of 8-term observations from meteorological stations located in 22 settlements of the region for the period from 1995 till 2014. On the basis of this data was calculated the wind stability for each station for different periods: January, April, June. Modeling of the distribution of the wind velocity vector has shown that in the study period (January, April, June) the wind is characterized by instability at the most part of meteorological stations, exceptions are the stations Zheleznogorsk-Ilimskiy, Mama, Kirensk, were coefficient of wind stability in January was close to 1, because of the predominance of a single wind direction on the territory of these stations, for example, at Zheleznogorsk-Ilimskiy – western wind, at Kirensk and Mama northwesterly wind in April wind was stable at the follow stations Nizhneudinsk, Usol'e-Sibirskoe, Kirensk, Cheremkhovo, Sayansk in June – at the stations Usol'e-Sibirskoe, Ust'-Ilimsk, Ust'-Kut, Zheleznogorsk-Ilimskiy. It was also revealed that wind is characterized by instability in all periods of the study, without exception at the territories cities Angarsk, Balagansk, Irkutsk, Shelekhov, due to the predominance of the two wind directions: northwesterly and southeasterly in Irkutsk, Angarsk and Shelekhov north and northwesterly in Balagansk. In addition, for the purpose of graphical representation of the scattering ability of the atmosphere were built ellipses scattering. Construction of the ellipses, which are an indirect characteristic of ability of atmosphere to self-purification, and finding square of ellipses revealed that the most unfavorable conditions for the dispersion are created in January – month, which characterized by high frequency of light winds the best conditions for the scattering are observated in April – the month in which the wind velocity increases, and the frequency of light winds decreases by 3-4 times in comparison with the winter months.
