Abstract

Modern mapping of geosystems is not just the disclosure of private properties and the territorial whole, but the understanding of how parts merge into a whole and develop as a whole through the manifestation of connections and changes. The purpose of the study is to consider the theoretical foundations and methodology of modern mapping of geosystems. The definitions of the basic system concepts used in the mapping of geosystems are given. The relation of such concepts as organization, self-organization, and structure, invariant is considered in detail, the basic content and axioms of the theory of geosystems from the standpoint of modern mapping are analyzed. It is noted that the relevance of research is determined by the need to implement the most important areas of geographical research. This is the implementation of major cartographic projects for individual regions of the country using space information and GIS technologies to regulate the processes of environmental management; development of theoretical foundations of Geoinformatics, expansion of the use of geoinformation technologies for ecological, geographical and other purposes. The article presents the content and sequence of mapping, details the stages of these works, the main blocks, the display of which is important for modern mapping of geosystems.
