The development of telecommunication infrastructure and demographic processes in the Baikal region

Abstract
Spatial patterns of communication development and trends of migration processes in the country and the Baikal region are examined. It has been found that communication development at the moment is not a factor in securing the population in remote areas, and in some cases it may contribute to the outflow of population from these territories.
